What is 'The Hakkaarts'?

The Hakkaarts is a project close to my heart, dedicated to supporting New Zealand kids whose families face financial challenges in providing basic school necessities. Currently available to order, you can purchase a visual diary that's perfect for drawing, writing, and painting.

Where does the money go?

All profits from this project will be donated directly to schools in need. These funds are earmarked specifically for purchasing stationery, uniform and supplies for families requiring the assistance. To clarify, "profits" refer to all remaining funds after covering the costs of manufacturing and marketing. I will not be taking any salary or benefits, especially during these early stages.

Does that mean you're a non-profit?

Although I intend to manage this project similarly to a non-profit, I have not officially incorporated it. I've been advised that this approach will enable quicker progress in these initial stages, especially since we are dealing with a relatively small amount of money. This may change in the future, but I will keep everyone informed as the project evolves.

Can I donate?

Since I haven't incorporated (as mentioned above), payment processors won't allow me to accept direct donations. If you'd like to support this project, it would be fantastic if you could consider purchasing a journal for your friends or family. If that's not for you, I'd recommend checking out the great work that KidsCan is doing.
